Job Title: Junior Estimator with Administrative Duties

A.G. Electric is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator with
administrative duties to join our growing team in North Bay. If you have a passion for estimating

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships in the industry; actively seeking out new opportunities, projects and clients and estimating; Source new project tenders though electrical procurement portals
- Review and understand tender specifications and drawings
- Preparing takeoffs and formalize estimates for new electrical projects
- Engage suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing to incorporate into estimates
- Obtaining bidders list and preparing lead letters
- Produce all costs for tender submission – material, labour, equipment, subcontractor through estimating software to develop accurate quotations
- Participate in closing the bid, including bid review meeting, etc.
- Assists with Prequalification, RFQ’s and RFI submissions as required
- Reviewing all contracts and accepted quotations, reviewing CCDC Documents
- Reviewing and circulating shop drawings
- Preparing purchase order to vendors and suppliers
- Managing, reviewing and organizing change directives, site instruction and change orders.
- Preparing prices for extras or credits associated with each change.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and maintaining records.
- Handle emails and customer inquiries related to estimates and proposals.
- Support senior estimator and other team members with daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- A College Diploma in Construction or Engineering Technology or relevant education background.
- Experience in the electrical trade may substitute for education requirements.
- Experience in estimating is an asset.
- Strong Blueprint reading skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project and Outlook) and computerized estimating programs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Problem Solving and Innovation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
